Charles Brindle, MD
is the Chief of Staff at Belmond Medical
Center. He is a Family Practice Physician, specializing
in Geriatric Medicine. Dr. Brindle has attended all three
major Iowa Universities. He earned his BA from the University
of Northern Iowa in 1977, his Medical Degree from the University
of Iowa in 1981 and his MBA from Iowa State in 1994.
Dr. Brindle is board certified in Family Medicine by the
American Board of Family Practice; certified by the American
Association of Medical Review Officers; certified by the
American Board of Family Practice in Geriatric Medicine;
and certified by the American Board of Independent Medical
Examiners. Dr. Brindle has been practicing medicine since
1984. Prior to joining Belmond Medical Center, he practiced
medicine at Sheffield Medical Clinic in Sheffield, Mercy
Family Care in Osage and Wright Medical Center in Clarion.
Dr. Brindle has served as the Medical Director of the Rehabilitation
Center of Belmond since 2008.

Dennis Colby, DO
is a Family Practice Physician whose practice includes the full spectrum of family medicine from infants to the elderly including Osteopathic Manipulative treatment and treatment for Attention Deficit Disorder.
Dr. Colby has been practicing medicine since 1980. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1976, his Medical Degree from Des Moines College of Osteopathic Medical/Surgery in 1979. Dr. Colby is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice.
Prior to joing our medical staff Dr. Colby practiced Emergency Medicine/Family Practice at Cresco Medical Center for 9 years, Emergency Medicine through Acute Care in Ankeny, and he practiced Family Practice/Emergency Medicine in Lake Mills for 21 years. Dr. Colby has been certified in Occupational Medicine and he is also a Certified Medical Review Officer. |

John Swisher
IV, DO, CAQ
is a Family Practice Physician who specializes in Sports Medicine.
He works with athletes of all ages and levels from high-school
through division I, as well as the recreational athlete. Dr.
Swisher has experience in managing various sports injuries
and illnesses that affect an athlete's ability to compete
and play. Dr. Swisher provides on-site coverage for sporting
events and also return to play consideration for sick or injured
athletes.
Dr. Swisher is board certified in both Sports Medicine and
Family Medicine. He earned his Medical Degree from the Des
Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed
his Family Medicine residency through an Iowa Community based
program. His Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship was completed
at the University of Minnesota/HCMC, under the direction of
one of the Founding Fathers of Primary Care Sports Medicine.
Through his education he has had the opportunity to acquire
up-to-date sports medicine knowledge to better aid athletes.
Dr. Swisher works closely with physical therapists, athletic
trainers, orthopaedics and other specialists to help get the
athlete back in the game as safely as possible. |

Chance Coppola, DO
is a Family Practice Physician specializing in Emergency Medicine
and Acute Care. Dr. Coppola sees patients with injuries or
illnesses which require immediate medical attention in both
the emergency room and clinic. Dr. Coppola is board certified
in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine.
In 1996, Dr. Coppola received his Bachelor of Arts Degree
in Biology from the University of Iowa. He then attended Des
Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine earning
his Medical Degree. Dr. Coppola completed his residency at
Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines. Dr. Coppola has extensive
experience in Emergency Room care having been an Attending
Emergency Room Physician at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des
Moines, since 2003. |

Ryan Coppola, DO
is a Family Practice Physician specializing in Emergency Medicine
and Acute Care. Dr. Coppola provides initial treatment for
a broad spectrum of injuries and illnesses to acute and urgent
care patients. He provides care in both the clinic and emergency
room.
Dr. Coppola brings six year of emergency room experience
as an Attending Emergency Room Physician at Broadlawns Medical
Center in Des Moines. He graduated from the University of
Iowa receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology in 1996.
He then attended the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic
Medicine earning his Medical Degree. Dr. Coppola completed
his residency at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines.
He is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board
of Family Medicine. |

Glee Christ, ARNP
(Nurse Practitioner)
Glee joined Belmond Medical Center in March of 2007 as a full-time
provider. She has 10 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Prior to joining our staff, she practiced in Britt and Clarion.
Glee enjoys all aspects of Family Practice. She provides
Coumadin clinics, foot care, female, pediatric and adolescent
care. Glee attended Minnesota State University in Mankato,
graduating in 1998 with her MS (Masters of Science) and her
certification in Family Practice from American Nurses Crecentialing
Center. |

Liz Cain, ARNP
(Family Practice Nurse Practitioner)
specializes in pediatrics and emergency medicine. Liz received her RN from Iowa Methodist School of Nursing in 1993, her BSN from the University of Phoenix in 2007 and went on to earn her MSN Family Nurse Practitioner from Graceland University in 2010.
She has extensive experience working with pediatric patients. Liz has worked for Blank Children's Hospital as a Pediatric Transport Nurse since 2005, and is currently serving as the Chairperson of Blank Children's Hospital Quality Committee and as the Co-chair of Iowa Health Des Moines Nursing Quality Improvement Committee. Liz is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, a Certified Pediatric Nurse, and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International. |

Linda Loux, PA-C
Linda has been with Belmond Medical Center for several years,
serving on the Ambulance for 25 years and as a Registered
Nurse for 10 years prior to attending North Dakota School
of Medicine, where she graduated certified in both primary
care medicine and surgery. Linda joined Belmond Medical Center
in 1996 as a Physician's Assistant.
Linda cares for patients of all ages providing female care,
Coumadin clinics, salvia testing along with general practice,
CHF, depression, anxiety, thyroid, TLC, diabetes, and blood
pressure. Linda says "I love Belmond, therefore I love
BMC. It's my home, my family, my friends, my people." |
